John Quinones, is the State Representative for District 49. A man who
came from Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Central Florida as a 14-year-old with
aspirations of becoming a lawyer.

Well, his dream became a reality when he earned a law degree from St.
Thomas University here in Florida.

Right now, he's known around the political circles in Florida as a
rising star within the Republican Party.

He caught their attention in 2002 when he overwhelmingly won District
49, which straddles Orange and Osceola counties, winning in a
predominantly Democratic district.

He has introduced legislation to put the brakes on street racing, and
succeeded in passing laws to help non-English speakers pass the FCAT.
